About the 2017 Wine Show

The Swan Valley Wine Show is recognised as being one of the premier regional wine shows in Western Australia. The annual Swan Valley Wine Show Wine Judging took place on Wednesday 23 August, followed by the Exhibitor’s Tasting on Thursday 24 August at Caversham House and the Gala Awards Dinner and presentation of trophies on Friday 25 August at Mandoon Estate.

Our international guest judge for 2017 was Ms Fongyee Walker, co-founder of Dragon Phoenix Wine Consulting in Beijing. Fongyee is mainland China’s most qualified wine educator. She is a Master of Wine, writes for several Chinese and international wine publications, judges for leading Chinese magazines and also serves as an international judge.

Fongyee joined our two judging panels of expert wine judges Mark Warren (Chairman of Judges), Ray Jordan, Severine Logan, Garth Cliff, Cath Oates and associate judges Dan Charter and Emma Farrelly.

Each year hundreds of wines are submitted by wineries from the Swan Valley and Greater Perth Zone.

The Swan Valley is the oldest wine region in Western Australia, the second oldest wine region in Australia and in 2018 the Swan Valley celebrated 183 years of winemaking and 30th annual wine show.

The Swan Valley Wine Show would not be possible without the generous support of our partners. Singapore Airlines, City of Swan, Wines of Western Australia, The West Australian, Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, Labelmakers WA Division, Laffort, MAP Bottling Services, Seguin Moreau, SWAT Winery & Vineyard Supplies, Cospak, Faber Vineyard, Saury, WA Wine Storage & Winery Supplies, Margaret River Cooperage and Quik Impressions.
